Who we are…

Scotrenewables is a growing and dynamic renewable energy R&D business which is developing a unique tidal energy device from its base in Stromness in the Orkney Islands and its office in Aberdeen. The Orkney Islands are at the forefront of research and development in renewable energy, and are home to the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC).

We are about to launch the engineering development and construction of our first full-scale 1.2MW prototype, which will be tested at EMEC in 2009. We work closely with a number of marine renewables players based in Orkney and companies in the oil and gas industry in Aberdeen.

Scotrenewables has been successful in securing £1.8m Scottish Executive funding in addition to investment by major energy company TOTAL. We are also successfully attracting external investment from other major companies.

Who you are…

We need individuals with technical skills and experience, preferably from the renewables, oil and gas, and marine sectors to join our team of dedicated engineers. Whilst we are not actively seeking anybody at the moment, we are always looking to hear from those who think they can offer relevant skills.

Candidates are expected to be degree qualified or above in a relevant subject. Experience in relevant sectors would be a strong advantage. A high standard of report-writing skills is expected, as well as excellent general computer skills and an ability to quickly learn new software packages. Good communication skills are vital, as you will be expected to deal directly with consultants and collaborators during project work. These posts represent a exceptional opportunity to join a small company with high growth potential and work with highly motivated staff within a friendly environment. Above all, you will be required to have the drive and motivation to succeed, which will contribute to the rapid development of our expanding business.

We offer the opportunity to be involved in an exciting rapid-growth industry, and a competitive remuneration package including benefits.

We are not currently recruiting, but are always interested to hear from exceptional people with skills in engineering, science, business and other disciplines. If you want to make a difference, Scotrenewables would be very interested to hear from you. Please send a CV and covering letter to our address below for consideration. We look forward to hearing from you.
